My name is Dan Parent. I have had a long career in the HVAC Industry, having advanced from apprentice to designer. I am from San Luis Obispo, California where I learned the trade working as a pipe fitter and Refrigeration Service Technician. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Cal Poly majoring in heat transfer and fluid dynamics. I moved to San Jose to be part of the dot-com boom and here I remain after 30 years. I now design high-end residential HVAC Projects in the San Francico Bay Area including Geothermal Heat Pump Systems. Two nights a week I can be found teaching up-and-coming technicians at San Jose City College. I am a husband, father, grandfather, instructor and engineer of some repute. I enjoy fishing and camping and the communing with nature that comes with it. Students love me; fish fear me.
