Many of the items below may not resemble content directly related to geo heat pumps.  They are about policy rules, climate change combat, and the regional electric grid.  This is partly because geo heat pumps are powered by electricity.  But, because renewable electricity from solar and wind power is becoming a larger share of the grid’s total energy supply, geo heat pumps represent the best path to overall green sustainability.  In addition, grid scale battery storage will help level the disproportionate contribution of (daytime only) solar electricity to the grid by saving it for later as will the electrolysis of water to make hydrogen for combustive and fuel cell uses.  Increasing solar deployment is an important component to pair with geo heat pumps at residences and in commercial buildings to pursue the goal of carbonless, Zero Net Energy.
